It all began on Year 9 Day 230 at one distant planet in the forgotten corners of the Galaxy. Weather was stormy, dark clouds blocked the sight. Rain was pouring down at the military base in the middle of the forest. Small group of soldiers were standing in the small square at the center. Their weapons were covered with thin rain drops, their uniforms were shining from the same drops. Each of them had the same white hexagon on their shoulders and helmets. They were waiting for commands from their superiors, all perfectly trained in many battles, all willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done. Eyes inside the helmets looked at the small tribune where young man was standing. He didn’t carry any weapon, nor armor, but all of the soldiers on the square feared him. For he was their wise leader Athanas Nadeset.

 Without any rush, he looked at the group standing in front of him and said:” My warriors, I’m proud of you. You did the impossible to make our common goal come true. We made many sacrifices, but it was worth it. This is not the end of the journey, but the beginning of one. We are now Confederacy of Independent Systems.”

 Athanas’ words came true, for the next few months CIS began expanding with incredible speed, numerous planets fell under their control. People believed them, no matter they were mercenaries. Their services were highly appreciated and many important people in the Galaxy hired them for special services. Loyal, professional and obedient, they quickly built name for themselves as capable of doing everything as long as credit flood was constant.

 Then couple of months ago, Athanas suddenly decided to step down as leader of CIS. His decision was debated many days by the senior officers, because they believed he is capable of leading them to success. No matter the discussions, Athanas gave up his leadership position to his second in command Todor Ginchev. Skilled and considering, his passion was a guarantee for the success of the faction.

 First weeks of Todor’s reign were marked by numerous battles in which CIS gave many sacrifices. Still, like before, mercenaries managed to deal with all the problems they had.
